General

Occasionally, products such as Symantec Norton or Bitdefender, but also other antivirus programs, are faulty in their virus detection.

In such a case, your virus scanner displays a so-called “false positive” message and blocks a game that is actually virus-free.

The manufacturer of your virus scanner can help you here. They will explain step by step what you need to do to regain access to the blocked game.

Symantec / Norton

Upon request, Symantec was kind enough to offer us the following help for our customers.

To restore blocked files/programs and exclude them from future scans, proceed as follows with the Norton virus scanner:

  • Open the user interface of the installed Norton Security
  • Click on "Security"
  • Click on “History”
  • Select “Resolved vulnerabilities” in the “History” menu
  • Select the removed file and then click on “More details” at the bottom right
  • In the following dialog, use the “Restore” and “Add scan exclusions” option

It is then possible to report or send Symantec the files falsely detected as a virus so that they can be revalidated by Symantec and there will be no more “false positive” messages in the future.

To do this, use the following two links in the desired language:
